Major League Soccer (MLS), the top professional soccer league in the U.S., has announced a new global partnership with soccer media platform OneFootball, which includes the acquisition of a stake in the company. As part of the agreement, OneFootball will broadcast highlights and related content from MLS, its developmental league MLS NEXT Pro, and the youth-level MLS NEXT competitions worldwide.
Through this collaboration, MLS will join OneFootball’s "Club Advisory Board," a group that includes major soccer stakeholders like Germany’s national federation (DFB), and top clubs such as Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester City.
Seth Bacon, MLS executive vice president of media, expressed the league's enthusiasm for the deal, stating: "As MLS continues to grow its relevance on a global scale, we are excited to work with OneFootball to provide fans worldwide access to the incredible action in MLS each week. This partnership offers an excellent platform to showcase the momentum behind MLS to a young, tech-savvy, global audience."
OneFootball CEO Patrick Fisher welcomed the partnership, saying, "We are thrilled to have MLS join our Club Advisory Board. This partnership will enhance their coverage and support the growth of soccer in North America and beyond."
The deal comes as MLS aims to expand its global presence ahead of major soccer events in the U.S., including the FIFA Club World Cup and the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
OneFootball will distribute MLS highlights and content across its website, mobile app, and partner platforms like Yahoo Sports, which hosts a co-branded OneFootball content hub in the U.S. and Canada. The hub, launched in March, is part of OneFootball’s efforts to expand in North America.
With partnerships involving 130 clubs globally, OneFootball continues to solidify its position as a leading digital soccer platform following its acquisition of Dugout in 2020.
