Nine international teams will compete in the opening round of the E1 Electric Boat World Championship at Jeddah Waterfront on January 24–25, 2024. Organised by the Saudi Water Sports and Diving Federation under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports and in collaboration with the Union Internationale Motonautique, the event showcases the Kingdom’s commitment to advancing maritime sports.
The star-studded championship features teams owned by global icons such as Will Smith, Marc Anthony, Steve Aoki, Rafael Nadal, Sergio Perez, Tom Brady, Virat Kohli, Didier Drogba, and Marcelo Claure. Eighteen male and female drivers will represent their respective teams in this thrilling two-day competition, which forms part of a global series of races.
Last season’s action-packed races took place in iconic locations, including Venice, Monaco, Puerto Banus, Lake Como, and Jeddah. The championship title was clinched by "Team Brady," led by American football legend Tom Brady, with drivers Sam Coleman and Emma Kimiläinen securing a memorable victory during the Jeddah round in February. "Miami" and "Raf" followed closely, finishing second and third, respectively.
The event aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by emphasizing sustainability, clean energy, and strategic investments in sports. Beyond electrifying the Red Sea coast with high-octane competition, it highlights the Kingdom’s ambition to become a hub for cutting-edge maritime sports innovation.
Fans can look forward to another captivating championship round as Jeddah Waterfront once again sets the stage for the world’s top electric boat racers.
