FC Barcelona Partners with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to Deliver Ultimate Customised Espai Barça Experience

FC Barcelona has signed a partnership agreement with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) to become the new Espai Barça Official Edge-to-Cloud Partner until June 30, 2028. This strategic alliance aims to enhance the spectator experience by equipping Barça’s new facilities with a technology environment featuring HPE Aruba Networking and HPE GreenLake cloud, enabling real-time data analytics and integrated security solutions.

The partnership between FC Barcelona and HPE focuses on edge connectivity and cloud technology. This collaboration will enable Espai Barça to offer personalised services and experiences tailored to its fans, setting a new standard for future sports and entertainment events. This agreement is part of the sponsorship program associated with the future Spotify Camp Nou, driven by the shared objective of equipping the stadium with advanced technologies.

FC Barcelona aims to make Espai Barça an international hub for innovation, and this deal with HPE highlights its commitment to adopting technologies to improve the experience for members and fans visiting the future ground. With HPE's support, Espai Barça will lead in technological innovation in the sports world, enhancing every aspect of the stadium experience, from arrival to the end of each match or event.

Fans can expect new services, including gamification and virtual reality, while teams from all sections of the club will benefit from advanced analytics to optimize game performance and strategy.

HPE will implement HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise with HPE data centre servers and storage, along with HPE Aruba Networking, including advanced campus and secure AI-ready data centre solutions. The network will provide a zero-trust foundation for FC Barcelona’s networking and security teams, enabling end-to-end visibility and global security policies enforced at the network edge. The data centre will feature advanced distributed services switches, enhancing security protection and visibility.

HPE is also deploying a high-speed, secure wireless network in the Spotify Camp Nou to improve the experience for over 100,000 fans, with plans to incorporate private 5G for core applications. Additionally, HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise will modernise the stadium IT infrastructure, offering simplified workload management, enhanced automation, increased data security, agility, and availability.

Espai Barça is a project in sports and entertainment, redeveloping and expanding all FC Barcelona facilities, including the Spotify Camp Nou, to create a sports complex in a major city centre. HPE’s expertise in implementing technologies will be essential to the experiences that visitors will enjoy.

This partnership signifies a joint effort towards FC Barcelona's digital evolution, ensuring secure digital interaction and connectivity within the stadium. Espai Barça will not only symbolise sporting excellence but also stand as an example of technological innovation.
