UD Almería has announced a partnership with DAZN, the global sports entertainment platform, making DAZN a sponsor of both the men’s and women’s teams for the current season. The collaboration reflects the shared values of passion, effort, and the relentless pursuit of excellence, with a strong focus on promoting the growth of women’s football.
UD Almería CEO Mohamed El Assy expressed the significance of the partnership, stating: “UD Almería, known for its fighting spirit and deep connection with its fans, has found in DAZN a partner that shares our future vision and aspirations. We’re thrilled to have DAZN’s support in advancing the growth of the Club and contributing to the development of Almería’s community through sport.”
Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, echoed this sentiment: “We are excited to partner with UD Almería, a club that shares our commitment to excellence and innovation in enhancing the fan experience. We look forward to supporting the success of both teams, led by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, with whom we’ve already collaborated in Saudi Arabia to expand access to sports and build a global fan community.”
As part of the agreement, the DAZN logo will feature on the jerseys of both teams, as well as on advertising screens throughout the stadium and pitchside.
UD Almería is currently ranked second in social media followers among LaLiga Hypermotion clubs, boasts one of the most valuable squads in the division, and is considered a strong contender for promotion to the top flight this season.
This comes after rumours that PIF were considering a $1bn investment in DAZN. However, reports now suggest that PIF has denied being in talks to acquire a stake in DAZN, which is backed by billionaire Len Blavatnik.
