Comcast Business Fuels THE PLAYERS Championship with Cutting-Edge Connectivity



Comcast Business, a leading provider of connectivity solutions, has disclosed its pivotal role in enhancing fan and guest experiences at THE PLAYERS Championship, held at the renowned Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass from March 12th to 17th. With 144 players competing for a record $25 million purse, the championship promises unparalleled golfing excitement.


Eileen Diskin, Chief Marketing Officer of Comcast Business, expressed enthusiasm about their partnership with THE PLAYERS Championship and TPC Sawgrass, emphasising the commitment to delivering top-notch experiences both on and off the course. The collaboration between THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass and Comcast Business has resulted in the deployment of cutting-edge connectivity solutions. These include a private wireless network offering high-speed broadband, multiple 10G-supported circuits, advanced WiFi, and more. These technologies aim to enhance fan engagement and provide real-time insights during the championship.


Among the innovations powered by Comcast Business's solutions are TOURCAST, available through the PGA TOUR app, which allows fans to follow their favourite athletes live with real-time highlights. Additionally, real-time stats and insights, such as ball speed and carry distance, are being provided through the PGA TOUR's scoring system, featuring data tracking cameras, radar, and laser systems.


Comcast Business hospitality guests will have exclusive access to real-time streaming video content, offering behind-the-scenes glimpses of the championship's inner workings over a private wireless 5G network. Moreover, WiFi presence analytics will provide heat mapping of TPC Sawgrass' most popular viewing areas, enhancing the overall fan experience.
