Big3, the renowned US professional 3-on-3 basketball league co-founded by rapper Ice Cube and business partner Jeff Kwatinetz, has inked a significant partnership agreement with X (formerly Twitter) to stream live matches and exclusive content.
While specific details regarding the number of live matches set for streaming on X during Big3’s forthcoming eighth season remain undisclosed, the league has expressed palpable excitement about the collaboration. In an official statement shared on X, Big3 declared, "Catch us live on X and CBS all summer long! We’re partnering with X to bring live games, brand-new content, and unprecedented access to our fans around the world."
This announcement comes hot on the heels of Big3's extension deal last November with national network CBS Sports for the league’s fifth consecutive season. CBS retains its position as the primary broadcaster for the 2024 season, pledging coverage of over 20 regular season matchups, the playoffs, championship game, as well as the highly anticipated All-Star and celebrity games.
Set to commence on June 15 and wrap up on August 18, the 2024 Big3 season builds upon the momentum of increased ratings and attendance observed during its sixth season, signalling continued growth and popularity for the league.
The partnership with X further enriches the platform's sports portfolio, following its recent collaboration with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) to exclusively broadcast a weekly video series titled WWE Speed. This series showcases timed matches completed in five minutes or less, catering to the preferences of modern sports enthusiasts.
Moreover, X has secured a significant deal to augment coverage of the upcoming Olympics and Paralympics in Paris this year on NBCUniversal, building on the success of 3×3 basketball's Olympic debut in Tokyo.
